The Northshore
Both Nice and Lucerne are named after popular European cities. The communities have progressed over the past few years, with new lakefront parks, interesting restaurants, coffee shops, and specialty stores unlike any others in the county.
Tasting rooms dot Highway 20 in Nice, including Tulip Hill Winery and the Fetzer family-owned Ceago Vinegarden, which features biodynamic farming, demonstration gardens, and livestock. Nice also is home to the largest Native American casino in the county, which completed its vast expansion in early 2006. The Lake County Visitor Information Center in Lucerne is fully staffed to link travelers to Lake County activities, lodging, and dining with a helpful array of maps and brochures.
